Temporary Activity

This visa allows you to work in Australia on a short-term temporary basis of time if you have highly specialised skills, experience or knowledge not available in the Australian labour market.

Your employment must be non-ongoing and must not impact Australian workers. If involved in an entertainment production, this must not be shown or performed in Australia.

This temporary visa is designed to improve Australia’s international relations by working in special circumstances.

There are 6 streams:

- Government Agreement

- Foreign Government Agency

- Domestic Worker (Diplomatic or Consular)

- Privileges and Immunities 

- Seasonal Worker Program

- Pacific Labour Scheme

Similarly to the Temporary Work (Short Stay Specialist) visa, this visa allows you to temporarily work in Australia for specific events. 

You must be sponsored or supported.

There are 10 streams, with specific requirements:

- Australian Government Endorsed Event (which included Covid-19 Pandemic event, now closed to new applications)

- Special Program

- Religious Work

- Research Activities

- Invited for other social and cultural activity (Invited Participant)

- Sporting Activities

- Entertainment Activities

- Superyacht Crew

- Exchange Arrangements

- Domestic work for executives
